When’s the last time you saw a 134-year-old mansion with a staircase that’s hidden behind a wall panel?
That is just one example of the architectural delights that lie within this amazing structure. Named Galbraith Mansion, it has owned the southeast corner of W. 6th and Myrtle streets since 1892. Official address is 259 W. 6th St., Erie, which places this one-of-a-kind residence squarely in the center of Millionaire’s Row.

“The 18-room, 4- story home features ornate ceilings, wooden window seats, hand-carved bookcases, marble floor-to-ceiling fireplaces, and opulent interior woodwork,” according to eriebuildings. info

That is about the most architecturally perfect turret I have ever seen. The brickwork is mind-boggling.

Lower level is bright and spacious, where meals were prepared for the household. It’s also where servants ate their meals.
