The demolition of Erie Malleable Iron (EMI) on West 12th Street in Erie, PA is underway.
It is apparent that this solidly-built complex at W. 12th and Cherry St. is going to take awhile to come down. The demolition project, which started at the beginning of March, also ran into a slight delay due to the existence of more asbestos than previously anticipated. Click on each pic for details.

Officials foresee a light industrial facility of some sort to be constructed at the former site of Erie Malleable Iron near W. 12th and Cherry St. once demolition is complete.

The demolition of Erie Malleable Iron is underway on W. 12th Street. Guess nobody will be using this doorway anytime soon.

It is anticipated that some of the “reclaimed” steel beams from Erie Malleable Iron on W. 12th Street will be used in the new facility to be built there.
